Trouble's knocking at the door...

For all of you who are not familiar with Lessie Kelly she is my favorite contemporary author.

The story follows Lottie Santory to the quaint town of trouble. She has a hotel room but does not know the hotel was shut down due to the murder of Simon's Uncle. Keep up! Simon is the owner of the hotel who is haunted by the memory of killing a killer in Charleston. Simon does not know that Lottie is coming due to the fact his mind hasn't been working real well and has been making him recall the woman he had killed.

Now Lottie arrives at the hotel in the middle of the storm and falls in to the arms of a very sexy... serial killer! No, she falls in to the arms of Simon who resembles the serial killer who used to own the hotel and hid a lot of cash within the walls.Keep up! He tries to push her out of his life and out of his house but fails and ends up falling in live with her.

Lottie knows she is in love with him, and that she has to find this stalker who keeps trying to kill Lottie and torture Simon to death. She is bright, sexy, and Simon's dream. Even if she is only there to do some research on the killer who used to live there.
You will never be tired in trouble, not with sexy team-tag Lottie and Simon!

foxed...

Now dears' this is a historical-suspense romance novel.

Now dears' this novel is the sequel to the gold coin. The silver coin is about a killer who torments Breanna Colby and Her recently married, cousin, with the promise of death until she has to hire a detective to find out who this mysterious, stalker/killer was. While hiring lord Royce to find the staler who is threatening her and her cousins baby, they begin a tug of war of passions. The end result is Breanna Colby on here back, on the sheep skin rug, in her room, in front of the fire with Lord Royce slipping impossibly deeper into here body. The couple then has to deal with a murderer while hosting a ball and a house party. The stalker kills a guard and the tension only increases. This book also has sections from the view of the killer and his french mistress, who is in the business of kidnapping. The ending is much like all romantic novels, bad guy is defeated and everyone is in love and happy. The the epilogue is of breanna and her cousin and their daughters. I highly recommend this book after you read the first novel the gold coin, where breanna kills her father and shoots a finger of this stories murder. It is defiantly a page turner!

Amanda's Lion

Now dears this novel is a historical romance.

Oh my, oh my! The Bar Cynsters have all been captured by the cunning beauties of the world. And I dare ask who is watching Miss Amanda and Amelia Cynster! Those two wicked girls are all by them selves and may do some thing very, rash in order to secure a husband.
On a wild night, is the story of Miss Amanda Cynster the Duke's fiery cousin. She and her sister Amelia plot to find a husband, and the way Amanda sees it her ideal mate is in the gaming hells of London society. She finds her match in lion-like, Martin who is scared by sins of the past. Though she does not give up on her moss-agate eyed lion, and soon finds herself drawn into a world she does not know, but loves to explore. But in order to get what she wants, she'll go to 'Hell and back again' if she so chooses. The game of wits has begun ladies and gentlemen I wonder who will succeed.
I find Amanda to be a most enjoyable character with humour and wit to match any one of her cousins. The book is a image of the woman we all hope to be: strong, beautiful, sharp, and intelligent. I give
this book a golden star! The story line is intriguing and captivating. Dears' this is the best 7 dollars you will spend on a romance novel. 'Till next we meet.

A tempting start,,,

My dear ladies the first book that will reviewed is Stephanie Laurens; On A Wild Night. I have read many of her novels from Devil's Bride to the Taste of Innocence. Though she is a very descriptive author I find that some of her metaphors lap over each other. Many of her novels portray strong male characters who seem to let their "reins slip" in the heat of passion. She is a tad to repetitive but that is what gives her novels some charm. Dear ladies I know that an author might write a innocent child novel but that same author could write a very reveling piece of literature non the less. I like knowing when I pick up one of her novels I will not be accosted by blatant words of sexual activity. If you like a steady author who keeps who intrigued and a little hot, then Stephanie Laurens.
Oh my it seems I will have to leave you wondering about the book dears. 'Till next we meet.

scottish lad...

My dears I must tell you of my new fascination. I am completely smitten with the Author Hannah Howell who writes about, Scotland and the romance that dwells within it.
In each novel there is the Strong male character and the surprising dainty-sharp witted woman. Many of her characters are similar but the plots are all different and unique. Like a regular recipe wi
th a little more spice!
Though the stories are based around the turbulent times of war in Scotland, it is easy for the couple to find each other not only on battle Fields but in a kings castle, or on ememy
lands, the relationship can be arranged or chanced upon. The first initial reaction between the male and female characters is either:childish desire, family relations, kidnapping, even arranged marriages. The male hero is always battle hardened, tall and has rugged good looks, despite scares from the past. Non have scandalous affairs or beat there wives if anything the women are the more aggressive in a caring, possessive sort of way. Oh and I almost forgot the men are almost always possessive and it seems that the females feelings come out though out the novel instead of immediately but not in all of her books. In her latest novel it seems that the story line completely changed yet it still intrigues me. If you want to purchase one of her novels I'll tell you my favorite one of hers, it is Highland Barbarian.
It can be fear and rage in a nunnery or hope and longing at court. The story could be based in the battle ground or in a bed room in the kings castle, all different all unique.I highly suggest this author for she is a true delight.
"till next we meet.

A little piece of history

Bon jour dears', As Lady Cathrine McAlan told me on my trip to Scotland. There seems to be a very popular new novelist. She has not published any books for there nature would anger the 'Great Dames' of London society. Fortunately this reveling piece of literature has been placed in my dainty hands, for safe keeping. Now dears' I have decided to post this novel. We ladies can keep a secret can't we? So I must ask that you do not do any thing to rash, for this author wishes to remain nameless, but she would like oh so much that you not copy this novel, for no one would dare try to anger the 'Great Dames'. My friends I shall post the first chapter of her novel Dreams of a Princess in a fortnight. 'Till next we meet.

The reason for this blog is...

Dear readers,
I am your faithful corespondent Emeline. My dears' , I come to you now to inform you on my scandalous reading habits. I have read novels to make your toes curl and make nuns blush. I do not presume to be a master of the 'scandalous secrets' in the small book we ladies of society carry in our purses, but I can give you my opinion on the books I find worth the read and those that are not worth the paper on which they are printed.
Now dears', I shall not waste your precious time with frivolous nonsense, I shall review first those novels I deem worthy. Then the novels that are not worth the paper the are printed on. Oh! Before I forget dears' not all the novels reviewed will be A historical romance novel, the will all be different and unique in the categories. The suspense, historical, supernatural,etc.,novels. So if your taste is in contemporary fear not for I shall review, many contemporary novels.
